With its stunning location looking out towards Mount Kenya in the south and the arid lowlands to the north, Kifaru House also offers outstanding game viewing. With just five charming thatched cottages, all with well-appointed bedrooms, with sumptuous four-poster beds and generous en-suite bathrooms, the property luxuriates in total exclusivity. The cottages are surrounded by an oasis of vibrant lawns filled with birdsong and spectacular views of the plains below. The main area and sunny breakfast spot overlook a waterhole full of activity and wildlife, and with an excellent library and log fires in the lounge and dining rooms, guests can truly sink into delicious cosy comfort during the cool evenings.

Lewa is home to over 10% cent of Kenya’s black rhino population and approximately 15% of the country’s white rhinos as well as the single largest population in the world of the critically endangered Grevy’s zebra. In addition, Lewa hosts an abundance of other species including the Big 5.

These include walking safaris, horse and camel riding, tribal village visits, day trips to Ngare Ndare forest, visits to the conservancy HQ interacting with the anti-poaching sniffer dogs and guided visits to an archaeological site which is rich in tools used by prehistoric man.
