About Machaba Camp

Located in the heart of the Khwai area, Machaba Camp offers an authentic and traditional safari experience. The Khwai Concession covers 35,000 hectares and is situated in the northeastern part of the world-renowned Okavango Delta, bordering the western side of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is nestled in a serene riverine tree line, offering a tranquil and peaceful environment to observe the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area. Guests can indulge in excellent cuisine and warm hospitality, surrounded by breathtaking river views.

Mokoro Safari Explore the Okavango Delta’s waterways on a mokoro safari, a traditional dug-out canoe poled by a skilled guide. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the shallower waters while observing the diverse aquatic wildlife. These excursions can be scheduled for the morning or longer day trips can be arranged. Game drive Embark on a morning or afternoon/evening game drive to explore the river systems and flood plains around Machaba Camp. The area is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including large predators, herds of elephants and buffalos, and numerous plains animals. These drives usually last around three hours, while night drives take place in the early evening and provide the opportunity to spot the smaller nocturnal creatures with the aid of spotlights.
