Ngaga Camp

Ngaga Camp Nestled within the overlapping home ranges of multiple groups of western lowland gorillas, some of which are habituated, lies the exquisite camp of Odzala.

At Odzala the guests are led on unforgettable expeditions by knowledgeable guides and trackers into the Marantaceae forest, in search of the magnificent western lowland gorilla. Treks typically involve 3-4 guests accompanied by a guide and tracker from our esteemed team of researchers, as we venture into the untamed forest where the gorillas go about their daily activities, often perched high up in the trees.

Ngaga Camp has six double chalets, they are constructed from natural materials, such as locally woven raffia palm panels, and are raised on stilts in the midst of the lush forest, affording spectacular views of the Ndezhi Forest. The dining room, lounge and bar area are elevated, providing guests with breathtaking vistas of the rainforest, while a star deck and fire pit on a lower level offer the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks as the sun sets over the forest.

Each chalet is raised 3-4 meters above ground level and features a 360° wraparound walkway, ensuring that guests can fully immerse themselves in the surrounding environment. Every room is equipped with an en-suite bathroom complete with hot shower and flush toilet, mosquito netting, fans, and power points compatible with South African, European and UK adapters. Ngaga Camp provide environmentally friendly soaps and shampoos, as we strive to minimize our impact on the pristine natural world around us.
