Verney’s Camp offers a unique and secluded experience in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. Located in a private concession area, surrounded by a teak forest and overlooking a bustling waterhole that attracts numerous elephants, Verney’s Camp promises a memorable wildlife encounter. The camp is situated on the central side of the popular southeastern part of Hwange National Park and covers an area of 10 000 hectares (24 710 acres).
Game drives are offered in the mornings and afternoon/evenings, lasting about three hours each. They take guests along the river systems and floodplains around the camp, providing opportunities to spot the larger predators, elephant and buffalo herds, and other plains animals that reside in the area. Night drives are conducted in the early evenings, allowing guests to see the smaller, more nocturnal animals using spotlights.
For those seeking a more intimate bush experience, walking safaris are also available, usually conducted in the morning with armed guides. These leisurely walks allow guests to observe the smaller details of the bush that are often missed while driving.
