Day by day program
Day 1: Arrive Windhoek
Upon your arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel for the night. You can take the rest of the day to relax and explore the area at your leisure, or simply rest and recover from your journey. We recommend taking a stroll around the city to get a taste of the local culture and cuisine.
Day 2: Windhoek - Etosha Heights Private Reserve
Upon completing your breakfast, check out from your room and proceed to board your transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport. Your flying safari will commence at the airport where you'll meet your pilot and soar high above the clouds for the flight to the Etosha Heights Private Reserve. After landing, you'll be met by a team of experienced personnel who will help you get transferred to your lodge. The Etosha Heights Safarihoek Lodge is situated in the heart of the reserve, where you can enjoy an easygoing and picturesque afternoon game drive to witness the wildlife. Finish off the day with dinner at the lodge.
Day 3: Etosha Heights Private Reserve
As you embark on a new day, wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Today, you’ll head out on another thrilling game drive in the Etosha Heights Private Reserve, searching for the Big Five and other wildlife species that call this vast wilderness home. Keep your camera ready to capture moments of breathtaking beauty and natural wonder as you explore the diverse landscapes of the reserve. After a thrilling morning, return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon nature drive. As the sun sets over the reserve, toast to a memorable day with a sundowner and later enjoy dinner at the lodge.
Day 4: Etosha Heights Private Reserve - Hoanib Valley Camp
After a delicious breakfast, bid farewell to the Etosha Heights Private Reserve and embark on your last morning game drive, keeping your eyes peeled for any last sightings of the incredible wildlife that calls this reserve home. From there, you will be transported to Hoanib Valley Camp, where the welcoming team will be waiting for you upon arrival. Take in the stunning scenery and enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the lodge, settling into your accommodation.
Day 5: Kaokoveld
After your breakfast, prepare for an exciting day exploring the unique geology, wildlife, and culture of the Hoanib Valley. The area is home to one of the last great nomadic tribes, the iconic Himba, as well as the identifiable Herero. You'll have plenty of opportunities to interact with the local people and learn about their way of life. With the Giraffe Conservation Foundation as a joint venture, you'll have access to a wealth of specialist knowledge during your morning and afternoon game drives, where you'll search for the desert-adapted elephant, giraffe, lion, black rhino, and mountain zebra. Alternatively, you can spend a peaceful day on your private veranda, admiring the breathtaking scenery before indulging in exceptional dining and hospitality.
Day 6: Kaokoveld - Skeleton Coast
Today, you’ll trade the sky for the land as you embark on a thrilling four-wheel drive to the Skeleton Coast. The entire day's journey is one of the most breathtaking drives on the continent. As you travel along the ephemeral Hoanib River, be on the lookout for large herds of elephants in their natural habitat. The route then follows the course of the Hoarusib River, where dry plains gradually give way to a clay-baked landscape. As the salty sea breeze picks up, the scenery evolves into a mesmerizing vista of white sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Day 7: Skeleton Coast
Immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings of the Shipwreck Lodge, an award-winning accommodation that provides an unforgettable experience. Choose from a variety of exciting activities like quad biking, exploring the Clay Castle and seal colony, and thrilling game drives. Or, take it easy and simply soak in the breathtaking views. Wildlife enthusiasts will love the opportunities to spot giraffes, lions, baboons, elephants, and even the elusive brown hyena in the dunes. For a unique coastal adventure, visit the Mowe Bay Seal Colony, where you can witness hundreds of Cape fur seals and observe the diverse birdlife that flutters through the cool ocean spray.
Day 8: Departure
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you'll head to the airport to board a light aircraft for your flight to Windhoek International Airport. From there, you will catch your international flight to your next destination. Take a moment to reflect on your unforgettable experiences in Namibia, and perhaps start planning your next adventure to this incredible country.
