Day 1: Arrive Botswana
Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you'll be warmly greeted by a representative who will assist you to your light aircraft for a short flight to Machaba Camp. The name "Machaba" is derived from the local Setswana name for the Sycamore Fig Tree, also known as the "tree of life", which is highly regarded in African culture. Day 2-3: Moremi Game Reserve
Today, indulge in the lodge's daily program of activities: wake up to a morning safari, followed by a delicious breakfast and some leisure time, or join a bush walk if you're feeling adventurous. Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at midday before heading out on a late afternoon safari, returning just in time for a delectable dinner. Let the lodge take care of everything as you immerse yourself in the wonders of the African wilderness.
Day 4: Okavango Delta
After a morning filled with exciting activities, it's time to check out of Machaba Camp and head to the nearby light aircraft airstrip for your flight to Gomoti Plains. The camp is named after the Gomoti River and its roaming flood plains, providing a stunning natural backdrop for your stay. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore the area and spot some of the diverse wildlife. End your day with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the camp. Get ready for another unforgettable day in Botswana's wilderness.
Day 5 - 6: Okavango Delta
Experience the best of Okavango Delta with a carefully curated daily program at the lodge: start with a morning safari after a wake-up call, followed by a hearty breakfast and optional bush walk. Relax during your leisure time before indulging in a delicious lunch, then embark on an exciting late afternoon safari and return in time for a delectable dinner.
Day 7: Okavango Delta - Victoria Falls
After your morning activities and breakfast, you'll check out and board a light aircraft transfer to Kasane Airport. Upon arrival, you'll be assisted with your transfer to Old Drift Lodge, located upstream of the iconic Victoria Falls on the banks of the Zambezi River. The lodge offers luxurious accommodation with stunning views of the pristine Zambezi National Park, just 7 kilometers away from the magnificent Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. You'll find yourself surrounded by a wild paradise frequented by various animals such as elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and many more. With its ideal location within the National Park, Old Drift Lodge provides all-inclusive insight into an exquisite natural world.
Day 8: Victoria Falls
Embark on an exhilarating early morning game drive through the Zambezi National Park before experiencing one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the world - The Victoria Falls. The sight, sound and smell of this natural wonder will leave you humbled and in awe of nature's supreme masterpiece. No photograph can truly capture the magnificence of the Falls, and nothing can prepare you for your first glimpse. After your tour of the Falls, savor a delicious lunch at the Lookout Café. Return to your camp and continue your safari adventure with an afternoon game drive, where you will search for wildlife in the wild savannah. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the lodge, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of nature.
Day 9: Victoria Falls - Hwange National Park
Today marks the beginning of your journey to Hwange. After checking out from Old Drift Lodge, you will embark on a scenic road transfer to Victoria Falls Airport (approximately 45 minutes). From there, you will board your second transfer to Hwange Main Camp and finally to Verney's Camp, where you will be staying for the next three nights. Settle into your new surroundings and prepare to immerse yourself in the beauty of this incredible wildlife haven.
Day 10-11 Hwange National Park
Early in the morning, you will set out for a game drive in Hwange National Park. With its diverse range of habitats, from dense teak forests to open savannah, Hwange is home to a vast array of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of elephant and buffalo, majestic lions and leopards, as well as the rare and endangered wild dog. After the morning game drive, you will return to Verney's Camp for a delicious brunch and some relaxation time. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive or choose to take a guided walk to discover the park's smaller inhabitants and vegetation. Finally, return to camp for a sumptuous dinner and some well-deserved rest, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush at night.
Day 12: Departure
After breakfast and your morning activity, you will be transferred via light aircraft to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight home.
