Day by day program
Day 1: Arrive Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet our representative who will transfer you to Arusha where you will spend a night at a beautiful lush garden lodge. The lodge is situated in a working coffee plantation. You will be briefed about your safari and plan for your next day´s departure time. Overnight Legendary Lodge on half board.
Day 2: Flight to Northern Serengeti
Depart Arusha by scheduled flight to the northern Serengeti. This flight is one of the most scenic in Tanzania, soaring past iconic landmarks like Ol Donyo Lengai and the Ngorongoro Crater. While flying over the Serengeti you will realize the sheer scale of the seemingly never-ending plains. On arrival at the airstrip the guide will meet you with a private vehicle transfer to the camp, en-route you will enjoy the game drive. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch. During the afternoon you will explore the wilderness and enjoy game viewing. Return to camp in time for sundowners and dinner.
Day 3-4 Northen Serengeti
This remote part of the Serengeti is bisected by the perilous Mara River, where once a year between July and October, over a million-strong wildebeest and zebra throw themselves across its crocodile-infested waters, heading for where the grass is greener. This makes for spectacular predator and prey viewing on the banks in the late dry season. Apart from the migration there is very good game where you will be able to see Leopard, Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, lots of action happens in the park. You will be able to enjoy morning and late afternoon game drive, bush lunch and sundowner around the campfire.
Day 5: Flight to Western Serengeti
Early the morning after breakfast you will fly from Kogatende Airstrip to Grumeti Airstrip for another adventure in the western part of Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will meet our representative guide with a private safari vehicle and transfer to Mila Tented camp.
Day 6 - 8: Western Serengeti
West Serengeti is commonly called the Western Corridor as the area takes the shape of a giant valley (running east to west) that is flanked to the north and south by hills. This narrow corridor is about 50 miles long and flows towards Lake Victoria. Game viewing highlights include the rare Colobus monkey, Nile crocodiles, and large herds of Topi antelopes, elephants and good concentrations of carnivores. After all safari’s you will overnight at Mila Tented camp.
Day 9: Flight to Mwiba Private Concession
After a leisurely breakfast, you will transfer to Grumeti Airstrip for a light flight to Mwiba Airstrip. The flight will take approximately one hour and half. Upon arrival you will check in at Mwiba Lodge and enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon you can decide to relax by having a 45 minutes massage.
Day 10 - 11: Mwiba Lodge Private Concession
Here you will enjoy the game drive in the private concession of Mwiba Wildlife Reserves. At Mwiba you will be able to do activities like, day and night game drive, walking safari, bush meals and sundowners. For those interested in a breathtaking scenic flight, a helicopter can be organized at extra cost. Get to experience an amazing cultural visit with the Datoga and Hadzabe tribe. Hadzabe is one of the last hunter gatherer tribes in Tanzania. They live a life almost free of possessions and are able to move by carrying what they have on their backs. They do not grow or store food and raise no livestock. This tribe requires no chiefs or leaders. The Datoga tribe are nomads and pastoralist, the women make themselves colorful by adorning traditional wear made from leather, copper, beads or iron.
Day 12: Mwiba - Lake Manyara
After breakfast you will be transferred to Mwiba Airstrip for a flight to Lake Manyara airstrip. Upon arrival you will be picked-up directly for the game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The lake has alkaline water which is home to several bird species such as greater and lesser pink flamingos, pelicans, yellow-billed stock, gray herons which eat the algae produced from the lake. Wildlife species which surround the lake marshland, grassland plain and acacia woodland are animals like buffalos, zebras, wildebeest and antelopes. There are more habitats in Lake Manyara such as underground water forest for clean water and shade and hot water spring. After a wonderful day you will spend your night in Gibbs Farm Lodge.
Day 13: Safari Ngorongoro Crater
Very early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast you will visit the Ngorongoro crater for a wonderful day. Ngorongoro, the only park in the world where human beings live together with wildlife. Livestock belonging to semi-nomadic Masai tribes gaze alongside wild animals. The crater is the world’s most intact volcanic caldera. It’s a home of vast species of birds, wildlife, and flora and the big 5 animals (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino). At lunch time, you will have your packed lunch inside the crater on the crater floor. After lunch you will start ascending to the rim where you will visit the Maasai boma to experience their lifestyle and culture. After a great day, you will retire by driving back to the lodge at Gibbs Farm Lodge.
Day 14: Departure
This is the last day of your safari, after breakfast you will drive from Gibbs Farm to Legendary Lodge for your lunch and day room. Late evening you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your international flight back home. End of the safari.
