This small park in Uganda is a protected habitat for rare mountain gorillas and the endangered golden monkey. The park also holds immense cultural significance for the indigenous Batwa pygmies, who have an unrivaled understanding of the forest.

Mgahinga is home to three extinct volcanoes that form part of the Virunga Conservation Area. These conical peaks offer breathtaking scenery, as well as biologically diverse slopes and ecosystems.
