About Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi Game Reserve is a protected area in the Okavango Delta of Botswana, covering about 5,000 square kilometers. It was named after Chief Moremi III of the Batawana tribe, who was instrumental in preserving the wildlife of the Okavango Delta. The reserve was established in 1963 by the Batawana people and later became the first wildlife protection area to be designated by the government of Botswana.

Moremi Game Reserve is a unique ecosystem that combines wetland and savannah habitats. It encompasses the eastern part of the Okavango Delta and includes a wide range of habitats such as floodplains, woodlands, lagoons, and savannah grasslands.
