South Africa is an exciting and varied country with great contrasts, strong history, beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, cool cities, beautiful beaches and good food and drink. South Africa is often called "a world in one country". It stretches from the Limpopo River in the north to the Cape of Good Hope in the south, a fantastic destination all the way south on the world's most magnificent continent.
South Africa is the most southern country in Africa. It contains the richest combination of fascinating wildlife, natural scenery, vibrant culture, and sensational landscapes and attractions. In Western Cape you will find beaches. The wine lands in Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek is famous worldwide. In Cape Town you can enjoy the Mother city of Africa. While driving Garden route will offer amazing sceneries. The great Kruger National Park is one of the main attractions, and around Kruger you will find some of the most reworded wildlife reserves in Africa.
South Africa can be visited all year round, but the climate can be very different in summer and winter. Summer in South Africa starts in November and lasts until February or March.
Then it is usually warm all over the country and lots of sun and rain. The landscape is lush, this is the best time for newborns and swimming along the beaches of Durban and Cape Town. The period May to August is winter and the coldest season in South Africa.
Then there is drying time in the north and wet in the south. These are the best times to go on a safari to see The Big Five with more active animals, more agile temperature and fewer visitors to the parks.
